I am always on the hunt for some new skincare that will resonate with my semi-sensitive skin. It’s been just a tad dry since it’s been really cold here, as well. I’ve tried a ton of different remedies and products but my skin has been in a pickle lately because of all that extra sugar I consumed during the holidays. My everyday skincare routine wasn’t working for me so I was really excited when I was able to work with BioClarity on a post reviewing their products. I’ve heard great things about BioClarity and how it helps with acne, redness, and more. It has naturally calming and cleansing extracts from green tea, chamomile, and oat kernel in the products and BioClarity is clinically proven to soothe skin and stop redness (while fighting acne). AKA, it’s this magical skin care product. After using BioClarity for the minimum two weeks, I immediately stopped after that. Why?
Like I said above, BioClarity is all-natural and this skin care line consisted of three steps. First, you have cleanse, which is your regular, every day, cleanser. Next up is your treatment, which is what helps defeat redness, acne, and more. Lastly, you have what they call the “restore gel”. This is your moisturizer which has floraflux to help your skin feel cool and refreshed.
Depending on your skin type, you want to make sure you’re using step two (treatment) properly. If you have oily to normal skin, use twice a day. If you have dry skin, use once a day. If you have very dry skin, use every other day. I would consider my skin to be normal, but I didn’t want to over-do the acne treatment, so I opted to use it just once a day.
I applied the first step (which is the cleanser) in the morning then I would apply the second step (the treatment) and lastly, I would use the moisturizer (restore gel). I would repeat that process right before I went to bad, except I skipped using the treatment.
The first few days I saw a small difference in my skin. Yay! I was really happy that I have finally found a product that had worked. One issue that I’ve been dealing with the past few months has been redness and I saw a huge decrease after using this product, even after just a few days. I also saw that my forehead was clearing up just a bit. After about the fourth or fifth day, I noticed that my nose was extremely dry. Come the end of the week, I could barely touch my nose because skin was literally flaking off. It was the most dryness I have ever had with my skin. I always noticed my forehead and chin were also dry. I kept on doing the same routine since I had to use the product for a minimum of two weeks, though!
No no no no. Starting the second week, I started to use the treatment once every other day because my skin could not take it. I felt like I was killing my skin because it was so dry. My skin is sensitive, especially when I’m using acne products, but BioClarity is clinically proven to soothe skin so I wasn’t really too sure why my skin was becoming so dry after using this product. Come the end of the second week, I was relieved to get back into my everyday skin care routine and products. Even after the first two days of ending my relationship with BioClarity, my skin was still dry and I didn’t want to apply makeup to dry my skin even more! Since my skin was so dry I started using double the amount of moisturizer and adding some N+F products. After a few days my skin finally calmed down, hollaaa!
Unfortunately, this skincare line did not work for my skin. I’ve heard great reviews about it but my skin has never been worse when I was using BioClarity. The only pro about this skincare was that my redness greatly decreased.
