Chunky Monkey Protein Smoothie + 3 Other Smoothie Favorites

I love food, but seriously, who doesn’t?! Food is delicious and can make you (very) happy, but food is really meant to be fuel for our bodies. It can give us energy, help build muscle, or relax you after an intense workout!

Smoothies are an awesome way to pack a ton of nutrients into a small glass. Perfect for before a workout, after a sports match, or just to boost your energy in the morning. Here are three of my favorite smoothie recipes, throw all the ingredients in a blender and enjoy! Drink up your smoothie with a bowl (definitely my number one option) or if you’re on the run, a cute bottle (like this one from Fabletics)

PUMPKIN PIE:
Pumpkin is packed with Vitamin A, C, and more potassium than a banana! This smoothie blends carbs, fat (coconut), and protein for a complete meal.

  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1/2 cup canned pumpkin
  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 1 scoop vanilla whey drop
  • dash cinnamon/pumpkin spice

PROTEIN CHUNKY MONKEY:
Yogurt, whey, and peanut butter pack a serious protein punch. This is the perfect muscle building recovery drink!

  • 1 cup chocolate almond milk
  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup greek yogurt
  • 1 scoop chocolate whey
  • 1 tbsp. natural peanut butter

GREEN MONSTER:
This smoothie packs tons of nutrients into a small glass, plus okra is packed with fiber and excellent for your digestion! I promise you’ll hardly taste it 🙂

  • 1-2 cups almond milk
  • 2 cups spinach
  • 1/2 cup frozen okra
  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup frozen berries
RASPBERRY COCONUT SMOOTHIE BOWL:
If I’m not feeling like making the effort for a smoothie bowl, I’ll add in some coconut milk/water and just drink it as a smoothie!
  • 2 cups frozen raspberries
  • 1 large frozen banana
  • ⅔ cup light coconut milk
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • Optional garnishes: shredded coconut, shaved dark chocolate, hazelnuts, chia seeds, edible flowers
Puree the raspberries, banana, coconut milk and chia seeds in a blender until smooth. The mixture will be very thick and you will need to push the ingredients down to get the blender going. If needed, add a little more coconut milk to get the blender going. Garnish with shredded coconut, shaved dark chocolate, hazelnuts, chia seeds, and edible flowers.
